My way of working

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is at the centre of my psychological counselling. This modern development of cognitive behavioural therapy combines Western research with Eastern mindfulness traditions. ACT helps you to find a new way of dealing with difficult thoughts and feelings instead of letting them paralyse you.

The aim is to recognise obstructive patterns, gain more clarity about what is really important to you and actively shape your life in a value-led way. It's not just about letting go of old habits, but also finding the courage to try new things - even if they seem challenging.

With ACT, I teach you scientifically based methods to be more present in the here and now, to develop acceptance for the unchangeable, to enter into a better connection with yourself and at the same time to actively tackle the things that really matter to you. I keep my knowledge of ACT up to date through ongoing training and supervision in order to offer you the best possible support.

If you are longing to leave obstructive patterns behind and lead a life that is in line with your values, I will be happy to accompany you - clearly, sensitively and with the right mix of structure and flexibility.  Here you can find out more about my way of working.

If you would like to get to know me in video format, you can also watch this documentation, where I could take part. It's more about surfing in the northern hemispheres than psychology, but nevertheless, you may get a better feel for whether or not you like me as a person and potential companion.
